Shiny Little Things

So it seems like just about every Spring we start hearing about how the “Urban Safari” look is a big trend. I, for one, don’t really get tired of the look itself. It’s classic and very wearable. In my opinion, the only trick is to determine how you’re going to interpret the trend in a new way. Since the low-key 70s vibe is also making a comeback this year, I’d start by incorporating some great scarfs. Another idea would be to throw some of Spring’s beautiful brights in to contrast with the typically subdued color palate of the safari look. In my recent shopping expeditions, I’ve noticed one store that seems to have all of the above and at reasonable prices. Take a look at some of Urban Outfitters’ pieces above.

Unless you’ve been recently blinded in an Aquanet related accident, you’ve probably noticed that gladiator sandals are once again a hot trend for the upcoming Spring/Summer seasons. To be perfectly honest, its taken me some time to warm up to these guys. The original iteration being flat and pretty casual, was not a great fit for my work place and I don’t do a whole lot of flat sandals because I really prefer the way a heel makes my legs look. At any rate, these persistent things are now available in so many varying styles and finishes, that I now find myself completely sold on them and planning to buy at least two pair!
