Online magazines are so amazing!  What better way to take a little break during the day.  Thanks to Lauren at Magpie Mania, I’ve been introduced to Antler Magazine.  The online mag is super easy to peruse and it’s full of great interviews.  Reading it lead me to some amazing Etsy shops and websites.  Make sure you check it out, and check out Magpie Mania as well.

Yeah!!  I’m so excited to see Kate’s new collection for Topshop.  It launches April 02 and it’s her 9th collabo with the retailer!  I can’t believe there have been that many.  Click to see the announcement.

Matthew Williamson for H&M

I’d previously noted that Matthew Williamson is doing a capsule collection for H&M.  It’s set to launch on April 23.  Some new pics of the pieces involved are starting to emerge:

Matthew Williamson for H&M

I might be a little bit behind with this news so bear with me.  I just read that Matthew Williamson, the creator of this fabulous $4,000 garment, is launching a capsule collection with H&M!  What!?  I know!  It is supposed to hit stores April 23, according to Vogue.  It is a limited release thing just like CDG was, so if you live in NYC or San Fran or somewhere else huge, you better get your behind in that line.  I saw a pic that I can’t find now, that was this multi-colored sequined little number, not unlike the one above.  It’s going to be at H&M, so you better get it quick.

Vaguely Givenchy

julie | fashion report, what I want now | Thursday, 05 March 2009

givenchy

I’ve always really liked these Givency lace ups from 2007.  They were uber-expensive when they came out and I’m pretty sure if you found them now, they wouldn’t exactly be a bargain either.

So imagine my delight when I spotted these Dolce Vita Lace Heels on UO’s website for $128.  These are probably more wearable that the Givenchys anyway and I love, love them.  Yeah!!

Bebe Knocks-Off Louis Vuitton

julie | fashion report | Thursday, 26 February 2009

Yeah hi, so uh, you remember the crazy platform sandals from Louis Vuitton’s Spring/summer 2009?

Yeah, I didn’t think you could forget.  Well Bebe has done a pretty damn good job of knocking them off.  Normally, I wouldn’t share this info until I’d had a chance to cop a pair for myself first, but I’m feeling generous, so all I ask is that you save me a pair of the brown ones.  Kee thanks.  Go here.

Gaaaa!  Jill Stuart’s Fall 2009 ready to wear collection was so Uh-mazing!  Is it just me, or is this kind of the perfect mix of sexy, carefree rock n’ roll style and a sweet, quirky school girl?  It pretty much has everything I love, minus sequins.  You have rad laceup knee-high boots, leather pants, lace, ruffled dresses, fur.  The last look is my absolute favorite.  This is so Bianca Jagger to me.

I’m actually surprised, because Jill Stuart is usually a little too sweet and straight forward for me, but this collection had me at hello, or look one as the case may be…

My Favorite Beauty Products

julie | fashion report | Wednesday, 04 February 2009

I don’t believe I’ve ever done a beauty post.  That is sort of unbelieveable considering that I’m one of those girls who doesn’t leave the house without makeup.  Even if it’s a Saturday afternoon and I’m just running to Target and the gym, I at least put on mascara, lip gloss and maybe a little highlighter.

Because I love beauty products so much, I though I’d share some of my faves and hopefully get some recommendations from you all in return.

the-colossal

This is a new fave.  I love, love mascara.  I believe in its ability to transform an entire face.  The issue is finding one that lengthens and builds without clumpling up.  In addition, the brush has to be such that you can get at those itty bitty hairs.  This one is by far the best I’ve tried in a long time.  I swear by it!

lipglass

I have chronically dry lips.  I must have something on my lips at all times.  MAC’s Lipglass is so good because it comes in a tube that’s small enough to put in my pocket, it makes my lips feel moisturized, it looks shiny and pretty, AND it’s sheer enough that I can put it on really quickly and without the aid of a mirror.  This is the best everyday gloss for me.  I don’t wear the shade pictured though.  I wear a much more subtle, neutral shade.

aveda

Finding the right shampoo and conditioner for your particular hair type can be difficult.  About a month ago, my stylist recommended something new and I really like it.  It’s Aveda’s Pure Abundance Volumizing Clay Conditioner and Pure Abundance Shampoo.  I have super straight, fine hair and it tends to be limp if I don’t work at getting some volume in it.  This combination really helps build volume.  I also appreciate that Aveda is so eco-conscious.

That’s why I also use their Phomolient as a styling product.  It’s light and flexible, but still gives some texture and lift.

patriciawexler

This is my favorite product for my skin.  It’s called MMPi2.0 Skin Regenerating Serum by Patricia Wexler M.D.  It’s available at Bath & Body Works and it’s great for the skin.

I have greenish eyes and I know that purple shadows bring out the green, but I’ve never been able to find a truly great shadow in a deep plumy purple that last.  Any recommendations?

New Photos of McQ Alexander McQueen for Target

julie | fashion report | Thursday, 22 January 2009

Remember when I talked about the Alexander McQueen collection for Target?  Well, it doesn’t launch until March, but some new photos have been released depicting some of the looks.  I’m so excited for this collection.  I have a feeling that it will be a little more pricey than most of the Target collaboration lines, but this IS McQueen, so hopefully the quality will be better than some of the others have been.

Here are some of my faves:

mcq-target-08

Love the studded gray denim jacket!

mcq-target-10

mcq-target-06

Amazing studded leather vest!

mcq-target-05

I so want this look for work.  Hope it fits right!

Alexander Wang Spring 2009

julie | fashion report | Wednesday, 21 January 2009

Alexander Wang’s Spring 2009 line is now available for purchase.  Check out Wang’s video commentary on his new line, filmed at his Tribeca loft.   He talks about his inspirations for the line and has a model show some of his favorites looks.

I think this is my favorite.  I love that it’s like a dressy, artful t-shirt.  The drape is so unique and the material looks like it would be so soft.  It’s made from a silk blend, so I’m sure it feels like a dream.
