Love at first sight!!!

Halloween is only a few days and I feel totally unprepared. Every year I swear that next year I’m going to start planning in advance and think up the best costume ever and I won’t rush around at the last minute trying to find something great. Yeah well, that didn’t happen this year.
What are you going to be for Halloween? Have you already got everything you need for your costume? I think I’m going to end up heading to Goodwill and buying one of those 80s wedding dresses that some poor divorcee has donated. Then I’ll probably hack off the bottom of it and add some black lace tights and heels and maybe some black lipstick and eye makeup. The corpse bride? It may not be very original, but it sounds like a pretty rad costume.

I swear, the Burberry Spike Clutch from the Fall/Winter ready to wear 2008 collection just keeps haunting my mind. I just can’t help but think about the long, dangerous-looking spikes and imagining the way they’d move as I carried the bag… Ahhh! It’s kind of disgusting to be thinking about a bag like this. But look at it-

And then, you’ve got to have the cuffs to go with the bag, right?

I love this pic of Irina Lazareanu in that gorgeous dress and the bad*$# cuff!

And Lily Donaldson with the cuff, the bag, the amazing dress and her fab self.
The Spike Clutch is $1995, so I will never own it. But even if you have that kind of cash, it’s on a waiting list. Somehow, that actually makes me feel a little bit better about it.

All I really want for Christmas…

Oh Alexander McQueen! These are possibly the sickest shoes I’ve ever seen. Everything about them is just so fab. I love these shoes so much that I would wear them everywhere. I wouldn’t care at all that they were wildly inappropriate for nearly every aspect of my life. If it meant that I could have them, I would wear them to the gym. That’s right, I’d be the chick on the treadmill trying to run in those things. And you’d all be jealous!

Oh, and I am not mad at these shoes from Rodarte either. You would see me on the stair stepper in these.
It seems that corporate America wants us to extend Christmas from the end of September through the first of the year. I almost puked when I saw fake little Christmas trees popping up in the window of Walgreen’s a couple of weeks ago. There is even a local radio station that announced last week that it would be playing Christmas music, and only that, from now until after Christmas. All this holiday mumbo-jumbo is making me fantasize about the cute party outfits I want to wear for all the holiday festivities to come in the next few months.

This is something I’d like to wear to a non-work event. I always try to go a little more professional to the work parties. The flat boots may seem too casual to some, but I think the studs add just enough interest to make it work. You could switch them out for some great heels and this could become a whole lot more dressy.

Now what did I do with all my old slouchy over-sized sweaters again? I guess they wouldn’t be that over-sized now considering I was a wee little one when this sweater was probably first popular. This presents the perfect opportunity to head to the local thrift store because they’re probably teeming with old baggy sweaters, just waiting for some pretty girl to buy them and style them just like this.

I really enjoy Irina Lazareanu’s style. She always puts a quirky, unique touch on things. This is an older photo of her, but it depicts exactly what I’d like to be wearing in the quickly approaching cooler weather.

The slouchy slacks and long lean blazer with upturned cuffs really give her a good vibe. The great Topshop has a lot of pieces in stock that can help create a similar look. I’d ditch the cigarette however and add a big cocktail ring in its place.

Sometimes I’m compelled to give in to my urge to bedazzle. It’s ok to go a little over the top once in awhile. These pieces look really fresh to me right now.

I know that Emanuel Ungaro’s Branch Heel Sandals are extremely unique and awe-inspiring. They are also $1,055 at Net-a-Porter.

So, I was kind of excited to see these “Martiny” sandals available for preorder at Steve Madden. They fulfill my desire to have lots of gray straps encasing my foot and they cost approximately $900 less than the Ungaros. Pretty good, right? Granted they don’t have the branch heel, but I think they’d be wardrobe favorites anyway.
